Professional Experience

An Associate at Rimon Law, PC, Laurel is in the Litigation, International, and Private Client groups. Whether as a Rimon team member or as lead counsel, Laurel is an advocate for small and medium-sized businesses with regard to the varied issues they face, including employment-law compliance, NDAs, or financial litigation. Laurel counsels in the emerging field of data privacy and information governance, with expertise in the GDPR cross-border data transfer field in the US and in the EU.  In a natural transition from governance counsel in public service, Laurel practices in the area of wealth services, focusing on legacy planning.  And with decades of courtroom experience, Laurel handles white-collar defense.

Her pro bono efforts include US Veteran benefits litigation, Title IX advocacy, and counsel for not-for-profit organizations. Laurel is the Project Coordinator for a pre-launch Philanthropy Incubator and advises a counter-terrorism startup.

Active in the community at Rimon Law, PC, Laurel heads the Rimon Summer Associate Intern Program and serves on the Diversity Committee and the Women’s Caucus. 

Laurel is certified for multigenerational impact giving training by 21/64, a non-profit consulting practice originally developed by the Andrea & Charles Bronfman Philanthropies. She is on the Privacy Bar Committee of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). 

Laurel is active on the NYC Bar Association's Relaunch Mentoring Circle and Litigation Mentoring Circle. She is a member of the NYC, New York State, and American Bar Associations and lives in NYC.  She leads a pro bono project in Israel, which takes her to Israel periodically. She is also fluent in Hebrew. 

Laurel comes to New York practice from the District Attorney’s Office of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where she launched and managed the Economic Crime and Counter-Terrorism Units. Laurel also founded a regional Law Enforcement Networking Campaign and taught Continuing Legal Education on economic crime and identity theft. With over a decade’s experience as a prosecutor, Laurel has extensive knowledge of the law relating to financial services, money laundering, and banking compliance. She has managed over 2,000 criminal cases to success and has been recognized for excellence by three District Attorneys and the Board of County Commissioners.
