Professional Experience

Jack Lin is an experienced business and technology counsel. He has advised clients on Employment, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property (Global Strategy, Portfolio Development, and Litigation Risk Management), Open Source, Transactions, Regulatory & Compliance, Product Counseling, Merger and Acquisition, Policy & Procedure Development and Training, and Organizational and Operational Excellence. Coming from many years of in-house experience, he is able to tailor solutions that balance legal risks and the need for business to move forward. With background in biology and experiences in diverse technology areas (particle accelerator medical device, software, network & routing, cybersecurity, and A.I.), he helps a wide range of high-tech, biotechnology, and medical device clients to navigate through complex issues in highly competitive and highly regulated industries. He is fluent in Mandarin and is familiar with legal issues in China.

Currently he advises companies in variety of industries, including A.I., cryptocurrency, and life sciences.

Prior to his current advisory roles, he was Head of Legal at Viptela (acquired by Cisco), a leader in software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solution provider. After successfully integrating Viptela into Cisco, he supported Enterprise Networking and Security products at Cisco.

Prior to Viptela, he led the patent strategy and portfolio management, and was the primary counsel for all IP issues at Varian Medical Systems (VMS), a Fortune 1000 medical device company with global presence.
